Not much can get me as excited about riding my bike into town as a thermometer that says 18 degrees (Fahrenheit, or about -8 C) and visibly accumulating snow. No joke. I made it three miles to the Greenbriar Collective house without getting cold to speak of, except a little in my left second toe. Not bad considering I was wearing sandals.

In other news, I got a new house this week, with gizer, flying_indie, tank182, zacholl, ibn_rafferty, amusedtodeath, and elusivethereal. It's in town, relatively close to campus and other common in-town destinations, which is convenient, though I will miss having woods nearby. It's a big house, with 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, and 2 kitchens. The address will be given a more secure post. This will be the new location for the monthly dinner parties, which might additionally be increased in frequency. We haven't set a date for the first one yet, but I'd personally like to do something on or immediately before the winter solstice, which is the 21st. How do folks feel about that date?

We're doing Day of the Unconquered Sun at my house instead of Solstice this year. So, I'll definitely be there! (Unless it snows so bad I might die getting there, then I prolly won't go.)

Oh yeah, will there be couch/floor space for sleepers?

Yeah, it was the wrong address (you left the street name out) but the heroic postmaster got it here anyways.

My thinking for the Solstice party is that the whole thing would be more af a feast/celebration to celebrate that specific holiday, and so might entail some sorts of activities and decorations to that end, like the Summer solstice party. I have no direct, concrete thoughts about what those might be. As for food, I have no particular theme in mind, except that wintery foods might be preferred to summery foods.

Hey! I flew into town yesterday (saturday the 17th) and I'll be around until time to head up to my grandpa's house, probably the 23rd or 24th. I would absolutely love a dinner party! And other hanging out that might occur. Are there good days/times to come over? And, y'know, where is this house. Heh. I guess I'm not on the list of those who get the more secure post... or it wasn't made.
